The problem
Parents wanted somewhere their children could watch cartoons and play without ads, comments, outside links or music, in Arabic, and for free. Existing Muslim kids apps charge a yearly subscription, and general video sites put the next video and the next ad in front of the child.
What we built
A platform children already know how to use
Home rows, continue watching, series a child can follow, short vertical clips, a live channel on a programmed schedule, child profiles, playlists and downloads.
25 offline games
Arabic letters, wudu, adhkar, building a mosque, colouring, memory, puzzles and more. They use voices only and keep working without internet.
An admin panel for a small team
Series, episodes, clips, channels, games and settings in one place, with visitor statistics. Every title can be hidden from the whole site in one click.
Automation that replaced weeks of manual work
About 840 episodes moved automatically from two older sites. Permission letters went to 81 rights holders in Arabic and English, with each reply tracked. Social posts are prepared, approved and scheduled.
A web app and a mobile app
A Next.js website and a Flutter app for Android and iPhone, sharing one backend.
The hard parts
Rights handled in the product
Each title carries its rights status. A refusal hides the title across the site automatically, so the platform never shows content it has no permission for.
A content standard enforced before publishing
No music, modest characters and a review step for anything doubtful. Titles that need review are held, not published.
Nearly free to run, and portable
Video storage is chosen so that viewing adds no cost. Hosting, database and processing sit on free plans, and nothing is tied to one provider.
Security, privacy and offline
Video links that expire
Episodes stream in short segments through links that expire after a few hours, not through permanent file addresses. The video servers answer only our own site and app.
Scrapers and AI crawlers kept out
Download tools and AI crawlers are refused, request rates are limited per visitor, and rapidly walking through the catalogue is slowed down. Sign-in and sign-up forms carry a bot check.
Offline downloads, encrypted on the device
Signed-in families can save episodes for a trip. Each copy is encrypted on the device, plays only inside the app for that account, renews itself while online, and expires after 30 days offline.
A parent area behind a PIN
Daily time limits, bedtime, age range, approved-only shows and switches for shorts, games, search and live are enforced by the server, so a refresh or another device cannot reset them. The PIN locks itself after repeated wrong tries.
Children's data kept to the minimum
Children have no accounts, comments, messages or uploads, only a nickname and a built-in avatar. No ads and no third-party trackers. Usage statistics are anonymous and deleted after 30 days, and parents can export or delete everything.
Rights enforced everywhere at once
When a rights holder refuses, the title disappears from the site at once, and any downloaded copy is removed the next time the device goes online.
